Finnish EU Presidency Conference on LLG Policies
Lifelong guidance policies in Europe were reviewed during the Finnish EU Presidency in the second half of 2006 within a European conference 6- 7.11.2006 Jyväskylä, Finland.
The conference in Finland had an agenda which was relevant both within and across education and employment sectors. Formal invitations were sent to Ministries of Education and heads of Public Employment Services. Countries were invited to nominate a team of policymakers with representatives from the ministries/portfolios in charge of national lifelong guidance policies and the Public Employment Services as well as experts representing social partners, civil society, leading researchers, guidance practitioners or other relevant organisations. The countries were invited to include a representative of the national Euroguidance centre within the country team.
There was an optional day-long post conference to explore guidance policy and practice in Finland in more detail on 8.11.2006.
The conference was organised by the Institute for Educational Research at the University of Jyväskylä in cooperation with the Finnish Ministry of Education, the Finnish Ministry of Labour and the European Commission.
